As the owner of the Jedi Light-Saber, I had enormous fun, in that for ONCE I had the biggest something at the GCSP! My green laser is a 55 mW. Definitely not a toy. I was at the U of A campus doing a star party. The stadium lights were glaring, the street lights were on, yet I was still able to make that green beam visible! One thing you have to be careful of is pointing out objects near the horizon. You would NOT want to get anywhere near someone's eyes with this; and even close-range is blinding. In every crowd, some kid asks me "Where can I get one?!" A lot of adults do, too. I won't let this thing out of my hands for a second, unless I KNOW the user is someone I can trust. I'd like to hear from anyone at the north rim whether they could actually see the beam, or if they just got this green flash like a UFO. From the lower area we could see the beam going over our heads from the upper area, and I was curious what (milli)wattage could do that. He also forced the North rim to unconditionally surrender in the annual laser wars. (Common mil. strategy - escalation of firepower.) I find that when I have the MRS. out during our backyard astro sessions that it can be a bit difficult to convey things at times (constellations, etc.) So a pointer would definitely help... > > > >-- > >See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please > >send personal replies to the author, not the list. > > > > > > > > > > > >--------------------------------- > > Yahoo!
