(There'll be at least one writer, there should be an editor, and perhaps there'll be a separate "template creator" or even a graphic designer.)=20 Precisely. I point this out to anyone interviewing me who asks for evidence of previous work. Most of them take it OK. Fortunately these days I have published books to take under my arm - and they are 99.9% my own work - so I no longer have the problem, but I did experience it for many years. But there is also wrongdoing - one team member used a manual I wrote, and in which he took no part, at a job interview. He got the job - and I knew for experience working with him that he was not capable of doing it. Whilst I have observed quite a few examples of what I consider to be 'wrongdoing' amongst technical writers looking for work, I have had to learn in recent years that in the same way the 'quality' is a movable parameter, so is 'ethical behaviour'. It shifts according to circumstances. People will do what they perceive they have to do to survive. We all set 'survive' at a different point in the same way that we set the 'fit for purpose' quality parameter at a different point. ck Notice: The information contained in this e-mail message and any attached files may be confidential information, and may also be the subject of legal professional privilege.
