Hi Randy, first of all, just relax. This is an informal group and usually as
low stress as possible. Many of us have a rather demented sense of humor. We
use the e-mail side of the group to just generally chat.

Most who do audio use file storage/sharing sites and just post links, or in the
case of dropbox we do have a common folder which if you are a dropbox user and
are interested, just give me the address you will want the invite to go to.
Those seem to be the two most reliable services that don’t limit users or such
things.

People have used computers, phones and recorders to record letters and other
stuff for members to listen to. Most are letters, but I did send up a batch of
thunderstorms that I recorded one time. They were pretty good ones too.

We’ve got people using macs, windows computer, and even darling in linux here.
Might not be able to answer all things, but can at least speculate pretty good.

Fortunately you signed up on the freelists.org group which tends to have more
mail going through it than the missives version. That one has members though
who aren’t over here usually because of accessibility problems. But any audio
that comes across especially lately I share across anyway. I also archive
copies now up on sendspace in an archive. We don’t care what format you use,
but for the archive I convert them into .mp3. That seems to be the most
universal, although .m4a actually compresses smaller. Well .m4 does. But you
use what you can.
