Thanks, After a bit of playing I was able to select the piece of the track
with the noise but wasn’t able to remove the noise, so I just left it. The more
I listened to it the more I think it was just a page turn of the music so it
isn’t that bad.

Hi Don,
during playback, you can press the [ and ] keys to specify the start and end of
a selected time range.
If you haven't already done so, it's probably worth having a look at the jaws
guide to audacity which is available at:

The moving the cursor section and the selecting audio section are relevant.
The click removal effect is available on the Effects menu, but I've not used
it. Here's the manual page:

Not sure if this will get rid of opening crisp packets, but others on the list
may well be able to make other suggestions,

How do I place the left and right brackets? I use JAWS and like I said earlier,

Hi Don,
You'll want to play the file and then place the left and right brackets around
the crackling sound and then use the Click Removal. This is under Settings.
