Indeed, I've been finding the developer version of 1.3.4 a joy to use with
my screen reader! Much improved for me over the "official" release of
1.3.3.
One of the other developers today suggested releasing an early
Windows-only version of 1.3.4, which I supported, indicating there was one
unnamed user on this list who would probably benefit from an update from
1.2.4 to 1.3.4. You can install two different versions of Audacity to
different folders.

You stated the USB turntable came with Audacity. You're 1.2.4
version might be corrupted. Why not either upload the stable
version of 1.2.6 or even go to Audacity and get the 1.2.4
version? If you choose to download 1.2.4, you should probably
remove the old program first through the control panel on your
computer and do a clean install.
Or are you locked into the version you're using because of the
turntable?
I use 1.2.6 and I can click on an empty spot on the very left
and my whole audio track is selected. Then when I go into
Effects, everything is available.

I managed to select the whole song and get to the Effects menu.

on their though says unavailable and im at a loss to know why.
