The fastest (but not the best) way is to either find a good recording of the same part, or re-record the bad part, then cut and paste over the top of the bad part. For example, if the bad part is during a chorus of a song and the song has a steady tempo, then copy the best of the choruses and paste it over the bad chorus. The best way is similar, but paste the new version onto a separate track, trim out the bad part from the original track, then carefully line everything up and if necessary apply cross-fades to achieve seamless joins. When done correctly it will sound like a perfect take and is impossible to tell that it has been edited. In some programs this would be done using virtual tracks - in Audacity it is done using real tracks. Good editing is a skill that improves with practice. There are a lot of tips in the Audacity manual and the wiki that can help in producing good edits quickly and efficiently. There is also a pair of plug-ins that were designed to help in repairing bad sections of recordings. If you try them please post your feedback in the forum topic: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=208312#p208312 Steve > > Daveed > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Steve the Fiddle <stevethefiddle@xxxxxxxxx> > To: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Date: Monday, September 9, 2013 5:06 pm > Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: New Audacity release > >> >> >> On 9 September 2013 21:49, Daveed Mandell <daveedm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: >> > Sure it is.
