As mentioned Miguel, your target has very high resolution.
It seems this is an issue.
I've made a resize of your TIFF file to 2008 x 1342 pix @ 300dpi and now
it works fine! Without any additional magic with CHT, TXT or testchart
borders.
Almost no matter if it's 16 or 8 bits TIFF - it works in both cases.
I checked the difference in the final profiles, it's about 0.05 dE2000
average and 0.36 dE2000 max.
