Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club! JavaScript is not a good example of what "cloud computing" entails. In fact, if JS were handled on the server, Arachne wouldn't be in need of JS support. The best current example of cloud computing is probably Google Apps, like Google Docs. The software and data are stored on Google Data servers, and the user accesses the service via internet connection, without any need for running the software on their computing device nor saving data on their device. As for Intel not allowing cloud computing to happen, why wouldn't they? Intel can sell more high end CPUs to those entities supplying the services and running data centers. Then sell consumers low end CPUs to run their "thin clients"...much like what Intel did in the late 1970s when many businesses rented "dumb terminals" from Intel, Compaq et al, and the terminals were connected via network interface over phone lines to central servers. Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club! Sounds like another word for Internet. However, as the Internet currently evolves, more and more of the processing is done on the "terminals" instead of the servers. Javascript is a good example. So it seems like the idea is already obsolete by today's standards. Also, Intel will never allow this to happen. ;-) Regards, Udo -- The DR-DOS/OpenDOS Enhancement Project - http://www.drdosprojects.de -- This mail was written by a user of The Arachne Browser - http://arachne.cz/ Arachne at FreeLists -- Arachne, The Premier GPL Web Browser/Suite for DOS -- Arachne at FreeLists -- Arachne, The Premier GPL Web Browser/Suite for DOS --
