Hi Gerald, Thanks for your quick reply. I followed your instructions and removed the cardboard enclosure that surrounds the expression pedal to get to the pot. Illustrations of test connections made: (Potentiometer) / | \ / | \ white/brown solid solid wire brown black \ wire wire \ / ^ \ or / | \ / | \ / | [red test lead] [black test lead] | / | / |______________/_____ OHMS meter _____________________ I clipped the OHMS meter's Test-leads with the Black-test-lead on the potentiometer's black terminal/wire and the Red-test-lead to solid brown terminal/wire; I was able to observe a resistance variance reading on the OHMS meter's scale when I operated the expressions pedal up and down. I then removed the OHMS meter's Red-test-lead and clipped it to the White/Brown striped potentiometer's terminal/wire; with this connection I was not able to observe any resistance variance reading on the OHMS meter while operating the expressions up and down. So then, it's safe to assume the potentiometer is shorted and I have to replace it? Barry PS: I check the potentiometer for openings to spray it with the electronic cleaner and there were none; it was hermetically sealed. -----Original Message----- From: analogorgans-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:analogorgans-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of GERALD PERRY Sent: Monday, May 07, 2007 1:26 PM To: analogorgans@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [analogorgans] Re: SOS "Expression Pedal not working" It sounds like the potentiometer is dirty or is shorted. Get a spray can of electronic cleaner and spray the pot thru the openings. Work the pedal back and forth several times. If you have an ohmmeter check to see that the resistance varies when the pedal is moved. If there is no change you need to replace it. My experience is that after removing the back of the organ, you will have to remove a cardboard enclosure that surrounds the expression pedal in order to get to the pot. Hope this helps. bh <lexicon13@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Hello, I have a Rodgers 750I organ and the entire organ is under one expression pedal/volume control. While practicing a Toccata halfway thru, the volume of the organ suddenly changed to full organ volume; ... my feet were too busy pedaling away and weren't operating the expression pedal at the time. Where I live, Rodgers' techs are a few states away. Nevertheless, I have some technical knowledge and I am hoping it a small problem that can be remedied. If anyone can help with an answer to my SOS, it would be greatly appreciated. Barry Email: lexicon13@xxxxxxxxxxx
