90/14 is like using a match stick on a knit we use them only when we are
having trouble with caps.
We use 75/11 Sharps as standard. They are ok on picque knit as long as you
have the right backing.
The other day on 185gsm Cotton Colarado or jersey knit I had to switch to
65/10 Balls and slow the machine to 600.

Can you use that needle on a knit? You always use a sharp to sew
metallic, don't you?
