YES!

the little spring won't push down on the thread like it used to
or in our case you drop it and it looks fine but you later realize it's
out of round
and the bobbin slightly rubs on one side creating all these weird
tension variations.

I think they are like $6 so we changed all 4 of ours out and was amazed
how
much better they worked,
I think when we clean underneath the spring (flat thin metal band) they
relax and don't keep consistent tension.
