Margarett,
Can't say for certain but it is how it is suggested to have your embroidery PC.
Personally, on our shop PC, only embroidery related software is on the
embroidery PC. Everything else, such as Microsoft Office, E-mail, Internet,
Quickbooks, Space Invaders, etc... is on another PC in our "Office".
We also are sure to back up this information periodically, using an external
hard drive, incase we ever have issues.
The reason Melco suggests not having your PC on the Internet is because if you
happen to have a problem resulting from spyware, adware, viruses and the like,
it only is going to mess up your embroidery business.
Also consider this, if your PC only has a windows operating system, Melco
software - both Design Shop and Amaya OS, possibly some Dakota Designs, and all
the work you've ever done for your customers,...
It would be easier to troubleshoot your PC troubles rather than trying to
figure out if it was the Webkins website that messed things up on your PC.
(That's if you have kids or grandkids) :)

Ed
