Hi Alexander -

No need to re-buy your CD collection from Itunes, or anywhere else, just do what many of us have done, and use some software to rip it all to high quality mp3, and keep it on your computer, or on an external drive, then just hook up your computer to your sound system. If this latter suggestion isn't practical within your home, then maybe a computer upgrade to a laptop, or a netbook might be worth considering. I have a net book that I use as a back up to my main laptop, and as it takes up no space at all, just hook up my external drive of music to it, and play it through my surround sound system.

Anyway, just some ideas -

Andy

Hi Tristram,

Thank you for your input. Out of interest, what sort of
mini hifi units are you referring to? Would you mind
pointing me to a link for more info please.

My reason for staying with CD is that that is the main
format of all my music at present, and I don't really want
to have to re-purchase the whole of my collection just
because I changed my hifi system.
