Hi Andy, and Jim,

I have been with Freesergve/Wanadoo for a while. I started at £17.99 and they have upgraded me, without change in fees, to 8.1bps. But that is because my local exchange can take it.

I have had no trouble since going on to broadband.

Good luck.

Ray

Hi Jim

I moved from Freeserve Anytime to Broadband Wanadoo about a year ago. My monthly charge was around £17.00 a month. My wife found that surfing the net had become much quicker and I felt that listening to radio had also improved as I was not loosing the signal as often. I'm really not sure of the arithmetic, but for £17.00 I was getting something like 750 mg of bandwidth. Well, after about a year, I moved up to 2gb of bandwidth at a monthly cost of £22.00. Unfortunately, neither myself or my wife have noticed any improvement. I have been told by a list member that perhaps my local exchange is not yet up to delivering 2gb. So I'm stuck on 2gb and a higher charge for 12 months. As I said above, I'm not too sure of the numbers that I'm quoting but it may well be worth finding out, before signing up to the 2gb, if your local exchange can cope with this bandwidth. I hope this is of help to you. Best wishes. Andy.

Hi List,

I'm about to bite the bullet and go for a broadband connection. I am currently with wanadoo and will probably stay with them. However, what are the do's and dont's re broadband, what pitfalls might I encounter, all contributions welcome.

Many thanks in advance.
