Hi again John.

They have covered everything eh? The time is coming when you will be unable to record broadcasts onto DVD or Tape I'm thinking.

Best wishes.
Andy

Hi Andy,

There is no socket directly to do that, nor can you connect it directly to a
PC to do the same.

The only way round it is to have the DVD device in your chain of connections
between the Sky+ box and your TV. You then need to play the film and record
at the same time.

I spent quite a bit of time researching this on the internet, but still got
no-where.

There is s good newsgroup for Sky+ if you use Newsgroups. It worth
subscribing to. Look for Sky in the list of newsgroups and it is obvious
which one it is.

Hi again John.

Can you answer what may seem a daft question please. That is; Can you
attach a DVD Burner to the SKY Plus device for when you wish to make a
permanent backup of a good program or movie?

Best wishes. Andy

Hi Andy,

I got my Sky+ box last December.

I kept my old digibox and put it into another room.

The deal at that time was that if you had a phone line in that room, then
you could also keep your old subscription level for an additional £10 PM.
I
did not have a wired phone in that room and did not want to wire one in. I
therefore bout a Freeview card for a one-off payment of £20 for that
receiver. It gets all of the terrestrial channels plus a good number of
the
free satellite ones. It does not give you any of the subscription
channels.

AT the time I got my Sky+ box you do not pay a Sky+ subscription if you
were
on at least one of the premium channels. I don't know the current ruling
on
that.

Probably best to call Sky. Their Disability advisor was quite good when I
rang them a couple of years ago. Their contact details are on the web
site.

Subject: [access-uk] SKY Plus question

Hi all.

I'm currently on a low budget SKY package of £15.00 a month. The Digibox
I
have is not the SKY Plus but the older model which allows me to record the
station that I'm currently watching.

As my wife Pauline normally watches SKY from 9.00 till about 10.00, I
regularly miss a movie or program that I'd liked to have seen, and as I
can
only record the channel being screened, then I miss out.

I have another room where the dogs and my hi-fi live and sometimes me
also.
I'm thinking of getting SKY Plus for this second room.

My question is if I do get the SKY Plus box for about £25.00 a month, will

I
be allowed to hold onto the old Digibox for Pauline?

If this was achievable, then tonight, I could record two movies which are
on
at 9.00 while Pauline is watching Pet Rescue or something like that in her
room.

Any advise or information would be very much appreciated.

Best wishes.

Andy
