Hi Carol,

No, it is not my number one sound editor, simply because it doesn't have
effective noise reduction, and a few other features like that.  But it does
have some interesting features that no other sound editor has, like dropping
index tones, and my favourite feature, is that you can set what is called
the record bell.  If you are recording and you want to know when you have
reached, say, 40 minutes, to tell your listeners to turn over the tape, then
you can have the record bell play at 40 minutes, or however many minutes you
want, and it gives you a chance to bring the recording to a halt in a
sensible place.  The bell is not recorded either.

If you like playing music or singing and recording it, it also has a
metronome.  So while it is not as good as Sound Forge at music editing in
the way of noise reduction and such, it does have some interesting features.
Oh yes, and moving in a sound file by phrase is an interesting feature, even
if it is not a Daisy file.  You can even tell it the length of pauses that
will govern a phrase ending.  It is truly a fascinating program and one I
use as much as Sound Forge, but not instead of.

Well, Steve, you've got me curious now so I took quite a long look at the
documentation.  It seems to be a bit like GoldWave with some interesting
additions.  I know you used to be a Sound Forge man, so why do you like this
one?  Is it your No 1 sound editor and, if so, why!

Sorry about the questions.  I just know I like the best too so want to know
what that is from a user perspective.
