They should expire though, or everyone could just pass them on ... <Smiles>

Hi Carol

It didn't indicate the two weeks were up. I went to the site and ordered
another book, and saw the expiry date on my previous download that it had
expired. Hopefully there will be some sort of indication that books are due
to be returned, but why this is necessary in the first place seems rather
odd to me. Once you have the book on your card, it doesn't matter if you
return it or not!

Kind regards,

Did the book on your SD drive expire and indicate that this was the case, or

didn't you leave it on the card long enough to find out?

Hi Carol

During the trial, I went to the link RNIB gave us and logged in with the
credentials provided. Once I found a book I wished to download, I clicked
on the relevant link to download the title, and this opened the Overdrive
Media Console. From there I transferred my book to an SD card to use on
my
VRS. Sending the book back was a bit daft as it didn't delete from my SD
card, so I manually deleted it once I had read it.

I am really looking forward to this service as I read a lot of books, and
the postal service and existing CD lending leaves a bit to be desired at
times.

Kind regards,

Jackie Brown

Can you use the new Stream for the whole process, Jackie?

Yes Iain, I found it easy as well, except I used my Stream during the
trial.
I don't know if the Overdrive console will work on the Sense as it is
something that has to be installed, and opens when you download the book.
But no harm trying it I guess!

I don't know about Braille Sense, but I used the service wit Book Sense
during the trial. It was easy to transfer the book from PC to the Book
Sense
and it is treated from then on as an audio book.

Hi all,

We recently heard about this service of lending books from the library
and
understand that there were a number of testers, using various hand-held
devices. We are interested to learn whether anyone on this list actually
tried this whole experience using Braille Sense and, if so, whether it
actually worked.

Thanks for any feedback you can give.
