Like all apps that use location based services continuously in the background
such as navigation and orientation aids, the battery on your iPhone will be
consumed more rapidly than given normal use. The RNIB Navigator not only
requires the use of location services but also requires an internet
connection, so it is recommended that you purchase an external battery pack
from the likes of Anker or a form fitting battery backup case for your phone
to extend battery life.

The app is essentially the same, same layout etc. I haven't created a
custom POI yet but will do so today when I travel to work in the morning
and try to bookmark the bus stop nearest the RNIB, currently St Pancras
International.
