Hi,
Yes, it will do the same. Stop completely that is. As will any app, unless
there is a system service for it.
All the best

What happens if you close it from the App Switcher? My other GPS apps such
as Navigon stop completely if I do this. Have you tried that?

Hi Steve
That certainly explains why it is so terribly greedy, I have never seen an
app gobble up your battery life like Navigator does. I agree you can take a
portable charging facility with you, but nevertheless ...

Hi Jackie,
This is because they have built in no concept of power management.
For example, if you put the app into the background, it still
constantly uses GPS instead of sending requests every so often.

Hi Ibrahim
Yes, but the RNIB Navigator app really does cane the iPhone battery,
it is much worse than anything else I have seen or used.

Hi John.
Like all apps that use location based services continuously in the
background such as navigation and orientation aids, the battery on
your iPhone will be consumed more rapidly than given normal use. The
RNIB Navigator not only requires the use of location services but also
requires an internet connection, so it is recommended that you
purchase an external battery pack from the likes of Anker or a form
fitting battery backup case for your phone to extend battery life.
All the best, Ibrahim.
