[access-uk] Printer problem

Hi all,
Something strange is going on with my printer. Any text I print comes out as
series of apostrophes, question marks, stars and all sorts of simples and
characters. I don't have any language packs installed on my computer. My HP
printer is linked to my home network through a Vigor router, and I'm getting
the same print out results using either of my laptops which are running on XP
SP2.
I've no idea what's causing this nor where I can go and look for clues. The
only thing I've tried so far was restarting all the devices and needless to say
that it didn't work. And ah, the printer was working ok up to a week ago.
Any help please? Even an idea on where to start from would be grate!
