Hi Andy,

Do we assume this is a new printer? (Which model of HP
deskjet?)

If so, then pound to a penny you've made the classic mistake
of not installing the printer driver BEFORE you connect the
printer. Was there a CD in the box?

George.

Subject: [access-uk] Printer problem

Hi all.

I inserted my printers usb plug into an available usb socket
on the back of my new computer. After boot-up, I was not
advised that windows had found new hardware. My HP deskjet
printer is not listed within Control Panel/Printers and
Faxes. I've checked all cables and re-booted but Windows is
still not picking up my new hardware. When I attempt to Add
Printer, I'm told that this is automatically done if the
printer is attached by a usb plug.

Any ideas anyone?

Best wishes.
Andy.
