Absolutely. I nearly bought it because at the time I didn't know any better but I was shown it by Mark Prouse who had a Nokia one and that got me wondering *smile*. Then the final decision fell down to the fact that there was no visual display so how could a sighted person assist me with it? It was on this basis I made the decision that it was not the phone for me and am I glad! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <jackie.cairnsplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Adrian The Owasys, in my honest opinion, was a terrible phone. For starters, Icouldn't understand what the voice was saying half the time, and it was justtoo limiting in terms of use. Anyone I knew who had one soon wanted to change to Nokia with Talks. The price was ridiculous as well for what you got. Sorry, but it really was a bad buy! I do remember it. I have to say it's easily forgetabletoo, a complete rip-off in terms of value for money.I was just curious about the new handset though as, no matter how much voiceassistance there is, you are still using a touch-screen from what the article says, and this is the stumbling block for those with dexterityproblems, and for those who simply don't want to use a touch-screen. I was really wondering if anyone had come across it so they could say. If it hasa place that bridges the gap for some folk, then fine, but it just made me wonder why.I am sure that if anyone is visiting Sight Village, it will be on display atleast. Perhaps someone could report back? I nearly bought it as my first phone with speech, thank Heavens I didn't. Maybe someone has decided that blind people again need something basic. I have to say I love the Symbian Nokia phones. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <jackie.cairnsplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2012 2:52 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: New Accessible Phone for Blind PeopleForgive me, but having read the article via the link Tomposted, isthis not reinventing the wheel, or have I missedsomething? Why havea Smartphone touch-screen mobile for blind and visuallyimpairedpeople with specific apps when you can already accesseither Apple orAndroid handsets? Hoping someone might clarify the point of having such a phone inaddition towhat is already out there.
