Hello Barry, When I asked about payment methods I was told that if you pay
by credit card it is treated the same as doing a direct debit from your
bank so you should be entitled to the same discount.

you pay for your gas/electricity by DD you get 5% off. I pay for my Tiscali
by credit card but all that happens is that, every month, Tiscali debit my
credit card in a similar way to DD. I wonder if this would have the same
  benefit?
