Gordon has a point.  I think potentially one would run into problems there and 
I am not sure if the editions for Kindle are derived directly from print 
editions or go through some addition processing.  The Kindle I don't think is 
an ideal academic study device, as a leisure reading device it is fine though.

But how would it work in the case of citations if you needed to quote from a 
kindle edition in an essay?

would the page numbers match  those page  numbers in the print version?
