Thanks Mark that is really helpful. When you say you can't order from the
Kindle, can you download books onto the Kindle if you order books online or
do you need to get someone to order all your books for you? Also, you
mention the 3G version. Is this an older version and, is there any better
version to get to enable you to order books from the Kindle?

Thanks very much.

Wendy

hI

tHE NEW KINDLE IS TOUCH SCREEN AND HAS NO SPEECH AND SO IS TOTALLY
INACCESSIBLE. hOWEVER THE OLDER VERSIONS WHICH CAN STILL BE BOUGHT FROM
AMAZON ARE PRETTY ACCESSIBLE FOR SELECTING YOUR BOOKS. yOU WILL NEED
SIGHTED ASSISTANCE TO TURN ON THE SPEECH FEATURE IN THE FIRST PLACE BUT THEN
IT WORKS REALLY WELL. tHE ONLY THING YOU CANNOT DO IS ORDER BOOKS VIA THE
THE KINDLE IF YOU HAVE THE 3G VERSION AS THE SEARCH AND ONLINE FUNCTIONS DO
NOT SPEAK. i LOVE THE KINDLE AND IT HAS BEEN A GOD SEND WHILE i WAS ON
HOLIDAY RECENTLY AS IT IS A BIT LIGHTER THAN BRAILLE.

Hi all

Can anyone give me advice as to how accessible the Kindle is. If so, which
is the best one to get and is there any additional software needed?

Thanks.

Wendy
