iF YOU HAVE WI-FI IN YOUR HOME YOU MAY AS WELL GET THE WI-FI VERSION AS YOU
WON'T BE ABLE TO USE THE 3G ANYWAY. yOU CAN ORDER THE BOOKS ONLINE AND THEY
ARE AUTOMATICALLY SENT TO YOUR KINDLE VIA THE AMAZON WHISPER NET. yOU HAVE TO
INPUT YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD INTO THE KINDLE SO THAT IT WILL CONNECT TO
YOUR HOME WI-FI. tHIS BIT ALSO DOES NOT SPEAK BUT IF YOU CAN TYPE FAIRLY WELL
YOU MAY BE ABLE TO INPUT THE DETAILS. yOU CAN ALSO CONNECT THE KINDLE TO YOUR
LAPTOP AND DOWNLOAD BOOKS STRAIGHT TO IT. iT IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO DOWNLOAD
AUDIO BOOKS ON TO THE KINDLE. tHESE CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM A COMPANY CALLED
AUDIBLE.COM yOU CAN ALSO PUT YOUR MUSIC ON IT. tO DO EITHER OF THESE THE
KINDLE HAS TO BE ATTACHED TO YOUR KINDLE.

Thanks Mark that is really helpful. When you say you can't order from the
Kindle, can you download books onto the Kindle if you order books online or do
you need to get someone to order all your books for you? Also, you mention the
3G version. Is this an older version and, is there any better version to get to
enable you to order books from the Kindle?

  Thanks very much.

tHE NEW KINDLE IS TOUCH SCREEN AND HAS NO SPEECH AND SO IS TOTALLY
INACCESSIBLE. hOWEVER THE OLDER VERSIONS WHICH CAN STILL BE BOUGHT FROM AMAZON
ARE PRETTY ACCESSIBLE FOR SELECTING YOUR BOOKS. yOU WILL NEED SIGHTED
ASSISTANCE TO TURN ON THE SPEECH FEATURE IN THE FIRST PLACE BUT THEN IT WORKS
REALLY WELL. tHE ONLY THING YOU CANNOT DO IS ORDER BOOKS VIA THE THE KINDLE IF
YOU HAVE THE 3G VERSION AS THE SEARCH AND ONLINE FUNCTIONS DO NOT SPEAK. i
LOVE THE KINDLE AND IT HAS BEEN A GOD SEND WHILE i WAS ON HOLIDAY RECENTLY AS
IT IS A BIT LIGHTER THAN BRAILLE.

    Hi all

Can anyone give me advice as to how accessible the Kindle is. If so, which
is the best one to get and is there any additional software needed?

    Thanks.
