Hi Jonathan,

If you aren't needing these labels today, email me and I'll print off the labels you need in Braille, on a Braille Dymo, provided the people can read Braille, that is!

Regards,

Mike

Not sure what you mean by "recording system" - if you mean "reporting system", it was just a backup idea so anyone phoning the "help I'm stuck" number which IS in Braille, would be easily able to tell which
unit it was.
I also believed that most people with a visual impairment had developed it later in life, so would know that a zero is a circular shape, and a 1 is a vertical bar. Therefore, if I said "there is a tag with 4 raised non-braille representatives of the numbers 0 and 1 on
the back", I thought that might help.

If you are saying that these shapes would require "learning an entire
new system", then that's a different matter.

No. This would require learning an entire new system. Find a recording system that doesn't require the person to read a number off a product. Or do your own braille with a Braille Labeller from RNIB. They are not exactly
expensive!

testing?

I want to send out some items for test.
There are a slightly different variants of the item, so I'd like to put a serial number on the back so if someone phones to report a problem, question or suggestion, I can lookup which item it was. There are less than 12, so not worth getting braille sheets made up. I have this Dymo 3d labeller, the imprint is quite tactile and well spaced. Would people generally find it acceptable to have a Dymo
sticker with:

1 0 1 0 for serial number 10.
1 1 1 0 for serial number 13 etc

Not that it matters that it's binary, but this would allow me 16 distinct numbers, and to a non-braille person like me, those two
numbers felt distinctively different.

Just trying to gauge a group opinion on a quick temporary solution to
a simple problem without annoying potential testers!

Thank you!
