Hi

The I-Player itself does not support audio description broadcasts.

Alasdair, would you be able to communicate to us, through means of a message on
the status bar for example, that the file has been completely downloaded in
order that we can thereafter navigate through it?

Well, there's a codec installation package here, which probably
  includes the codec:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=06fcaab7-dcc9-466b-b0c4-04db144bb601&displaylang=en

I'll have to check out the requirements and see if I can build an
  installer that installs it.

Balal, do you have an example of a program with audio descriptions?
