That is why I use it as a back-up phone, in case my HTCOzone ever bites the
dust, as it were. The features that don't speak are the web browser, and the
stop watch. It serves its purpose as far as a basic phone, with texting
ability goes.

I don't think there is any part of the Haven that does not speak.
It is simply the most accessible flip-phone on the market, for the Verizon
network anyway.

the problem with the haven’s are they are slow. Certain features don’t talk.

Hi everyone.
I want to thank each and every one on list who sent me helpful hints
concerning smart phones. AS it turned out, I had ordered a smart
phone from VZW Corporate as it wasn't available in the store near
me. The phone appears to be defective, and since I've had it past
the 14 day worry free guarantee through no fault of my own as it
didn't get to me when it should have thanks to Fed Ex, I cannot
return it to Corporate. The phone will be handled through the retail
store I visited today, and I will pick out a basic phone I can deal
with, smile!
I wish I knew how so many of you are able to work with iPhones and/or
smart phones. This one was a Samsung Galaxy S III Mini. I have used
an LG VX8300 flip phone for several years, and I don't quite know
what to upgrade to as there aren't many basic phones left on the
market. If anyone has some ideas or knowledge about a good basic
phone in case my 8300 decides to crater, I'd appreciate the input.
