Old Hickory Lake Davidson & Sumner Counties A cold, but sunny, morning greeted nine NTOS members on today's field trip to Old Hickory Lake. The cold front has brought some interesting birds in; Hooded Mergansers, Ruddy Ducks, Horned Grebes, Buffleheads, Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked Ducks and Common Loons. We all shared great looks at two low flying Red Tail Hawks. Species total for the day was fourty nine. A guest, Tarcilla Fox's grandaughter, joined us at mid-morning. It was enjoyable to watch an eight year see some new birds for the first time. Perhaps we should think of ways to make things like that happen more often. Gary Casey Kingston Springs, Tn. Talk and walk softly, carry a big scope. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
