Yes it's in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\UserInfo\UserName
and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\UserInfo\UserInitials.

I've been scripting these settings (I use mandatory profiles) since
Office97 ;-)
