Here's a great example of why: I'm looking at a cheap HP laser for a
customer - the Laserjet 1010. Look at the system requirements:

MIN SYS REQS: Operating system requirements as recommended by the operating
system vendor plus free hard disk space (140 MB for full 
installation, 10 MB for print drivers only); CD-ROM disk 
drive; USB, dedicated IEEE-1284 compliant bi-directional
parallel, or ECP-compliant parallel port 

140 MB for full installation and 10MB just for drivers. Talk about
bloatware. 140MB. How could you *possibly* use 140MB of disk space just to
manage a printer?
