However, Symantec offers two update mechanisms: "LiveUpdate" and "Intelligent Updater". They write on their website: "LiveUpdate definitions are updated weekly, except for major outbreaks, when definitions are updated more often [...] Intelligent Updater is updated daily during the work week."
