That's a shame, Jim...
If you would have called the number in the link I provided, the pick up charge
would have been waived
automatically.
I had the same problem with UPS. Get a rate estimate, but when I go to shipping
label, it would be higher.
Keep in mind, all these places charge an extra fee if the package is going to a
resident, or being picked
up from a resident.
Ups has too many different rates, depending on how they get it. They told me it
is cheaper to take to the
UPS Store, than to take to their hub up the street.
It's too late for you to get the free pick up, since you already have an
account, unless you use a
different address.

Jeff, I set up an account with DHL yesterday and was planning to switch
from UPS Internet shipping. I did and estimated cost for a package on
both DHL and UPS web sites this morning, DHL showed $5.11 plus $3.00
pick up charge for $8.11 total. UPS showed $5.16, we don't pay a pick up
charge to UPS because we just hand the pkg to the driver when he
delivers. I decided to go ahead and ship UPS but then the $5.16 became
$7.20? Go figure................maybe I do pay a pick up charge and just
think I don't. I'll wait till I get the DHL starter package and see what
it looks like. UPS Pi__ed me off last week, added about 35.00 for a box
they said was oversized. I didn't measure it but I'm pretty sure it was
under the 108 inch limit and weight was only 16 lbs. Poor drivers just
can't handle anything big or heavy for their 25.00 per hour and 52 weeks
a year vacation I guess.
