OK I'll start something here.
When I was teaching electronics at the local shipyard, I got in an argument
with the apprentice program's science (physics) teacher about dropping
bombs. He said they will hit what is directly below the plane at the time of
release. I of course took a different view. I said they don't lose their
forward momentum instantly at the time of release, so they will hit
somewhere ahead of there depending on altitude and wind friction.

He was also my supervisor, so I couldn't win, or even pursue it as I would
have liked.
