Max, 
I'm from WV also. I want to tell you that you will never find a better
bunch of guys than the ones on here. And, yes, it has evolved over the
years into some other smaller groups also where mostly "non-tech" issues
are discussed. I have been associated with these lists and these PEOPLE
for a good while now. And yes they are real people on the other end of
that connection. Sometimes things just slip out, so don't let any
remarks get to you. It is all in good fun. Most of us agree that if it
can't be fun one in awhile to ease some tension, then what's the use? I
don't use a sig file myself either.....YET! (See Jeff, I heard you &
Al!) 
Keep it between the ditches!
