Is the set worth the estimate? If not you may be stuck. If it is older and  the 
customer has time to consider the options, $400 may make a sizable dent in the 
price of a new set. I would call and ask if they were aware that the check had 
been returned. The bank in most cases does not call the the customer with this 
information. They usually put it in the mail and the customer may not know 
about it for several days. If the set is worth it I would pick up the rest of 
the set if possible and practical. At least you may be able to sell it for all 
or part of the repair. This is before you have to threaten to turn the check 
over to the DA or collection agency. You have a light box and a bad check as of 
now.
