Its your business. Run it your way. I posted a solution that has worked for me in the past. If the situation were mine, due to the amounts involved, I would contact the customer and ask them if they were aware that the check bounced and how do they want to handle the situation. If it turns out well you might have a good customer that gives you referrals to their friends, which is the best way to get business.
