Thanks everyone for the great sign-up and support of DA2014!I see we have a lot of folks signing up to help out - I wish there were more new people, I am not sure why everyone is so bashful. Working the flight-line can be fun, you can meet rockets and people and see what is flying, when and where and help folks out... it is a fun break from prepping and/or recovery drama. Also, I see the Nike drag-race sign-up has Karl, Ron, Gary, Steve and Jimmy and myself ... I was hoping we could have more than 6 fliers, but maybe we can convince someone else to join.. like Jack, or Richard, or Zylstra, or Aidan ..Looks like maybe we need to do a few heats of Nike Drag launches ... :-)On Sat, May 3, 2014 at 1:54 PM, James Dougherty <jafrado@xxxxxxxxx <mailto:jafrado@xxxxxxxxx>> wrote:Hi Everyone, I hope you're all getting excited and preparing for DairyAire 2014! This DA launch is going to be great - a safe, fun-filled weekend of rocketry! Schedule Friday - Start, 9:30am Saturday - Same, Night-Launch at Sunset Sunday - Start 9:30-2PM Night operations begin at sundown on Saturday night. I will be calling in the FAA Waivers for 9am every morning and starting in a week. Daily launch fees are $10.00, age 14 and under fly free. At sign-in you will have to sign a safety code/liability waiver before being allowed to launch. There is no charge for the flight cards. One must be filled out for every flight. High power users must be prepared to show their NAR or Tripoli membership card at the RSO (Range Safety Officer) check in as proof of certification before every flight. We have a FAA Waiver to launch rockets to 16,800 feet above ground at our site. Any rocket that could reach a higher altitude will not be allowed to launch. Vendors - Confirmed Lunch/Dinner - Boy Scouts (John Kelley) Bay Area Rocketry (Mike Gentile) FruityChutes (Gene Engelgau) Real Flight Systems (me) ERS (Shawn Stephens) Vendors - TBD What's up Hobbies (Jack Garibaldi) Madcow Rocketry (Mike Stoop) Visalia Hobbies (John) Food and Fine Dining -- John Kelly and the Boy Scouts will be making all sorts of great food and Barbeque - if you guys haven't tried his Tri-tip, you're missing out! he will be out with the troops for all sorts of great food to eat. John will send out an email with the menu plan. Aaron will be out Thursday night to the launch location and we'll plan for 8 spots for the Vendors when we setup the flight line. Mike Smith will be bringing out the trailer Friday morning so I am hoping we can get a crew together to help setup around 9am. James will call the porta-potties for Friday, Ron Swenson will bring the club porta-potties out on Saturday and Richard will bring them back. The launch site will be right by the Del Norte site just like it is every time, the field will be visible and there will be a sign directing people from the Turn-in to the parking area/flight-line. Aaron and I will update you and the website if there are any last minute changes. Locations to the Del Norte site are posted online at http://www.tccrockets.com Folks, we really need more people signing up for the launch - it's not fair that the same people do all the work all the time and we really need to all chip in and help out. Just sign up for a spotter position or registration if you're not up for RSO/LCO, right now - we are woefully understaffed! BTW, there are going to be some cool give-away prizes at the launch for folks who help out the most. Attached is the T-Shirt design, everyone who wants a specific or smaller size, please sign up for T-Shirts since I will be doing last call on Monday! I see an awful lot of blank spots on that list for RSO, LCO, and other help. Remember that we are a volunteer club. If we do not have people to fill these spots we will not fly during those hours. It should not be that a few people that have to do it all day long that is not fair. We all want to fly rockets. So if you are members of TCC or from another club you are here to fly and we ask that you help also. RSO is not a hard job and there are many other things on that list that we need help with. So on that note I would really like to fill up the list this year. We will be posting this list on Friday and for the weekend. We appreciate your volunteering and helping us and the club continue flying. For the ones that already signed up. TCC and I thank you for your help making this club run and keep flying.
