Whew: What a trip to Florida. Just now posting cause I didn't get on the net during the trip and took two days of recovery at home before I could see. Left the show at 1:30 FL time on Sunday and drove straight through to Nacogodoches. 1,000 miles in 17 hours. Slept for a long time when I got home. Everything everyone has already said about FL and then some. Collection of cars at the Rare & Unique party on Friday night was the most awesome collection of VW iron I have ever seen in one place. My estimate that the garage had between $750,000 and $1,000,000 in value of VWs in it. Asked Dean Kirsten if he had ever seen such a gathering of VWs at a VW party before, not anything at the Cal Classic weekend even comes close to what was there in both cars and people. Kirstien agreed that nothing in So CAL compares. Splits, Kubels, Fridolens, Type 34s, busses, and lots and lots of people. The bulli show on Saturday and the Jam on Sunday were tremendous let downs after the party on Friday night. Peter kept scoring bus parts but I couldn't find anything that was a bargain. I remarked several times that these guys were asking Califonia prices plus 50%. Man, I saved a lot of money by not buying anything. You need to do this weekend at least once in your life, but I couldn't drive a bus that far. Even the Baja got a little old after 2,300 miles of total driving. Where in the _(&*&%&$# was Will. Said he was coming but never saw him. Come home and find out he went to Vegas instead????????

Anyway: I'm glad to be home. Almost had enough VW happenings for one year. Need rest.
