Hi Scott I take exception to your last sentence below as my name is Burke which is spelt exactly as you have written it and I would not for one!

Actually that's what I did do.

I brought a phone cheep with talks and like you say it went wonky and I needed it by then coss I'd got used to that freedom so brought a bran new phone and brought talks.

If they didn't want people to do this they would do what wayfinder did.

Wayfinder is also just about the only program I've never heard of being cracked.

I Think talks is a fair price for what you get and think they get it just about right.

Leaving talks on the old phone and asking for 50 quid to put it on the new ones fair for me.

I'll sell with it on so there for get more for the phone but I'll also pay for the moving of the talks over.

Only a burke wouldn't frankly.

 Ta Scott.

Hi

Interesting how noone has also posed the idea that maybe it's a good
promotional tool. Think about it, someone buys a second-hand phone with
talks installed. After the seller has transfered there licence over to
there new replacement phone. The buyer of the second-hand phone, cannot
upgrade or transfer it across to another phone. So when a hard reset is
made or the phone dies, that's the end of that restricted to upgrade
copy of talks.

When a user has this level of access. I'm sure that when they can
afford their own licence on a new phone, that's what they'll do. Noone
can guess how long a second-hand phone will last. These products are
not built to last but to die after a few years.

There's a User License agreement for a reason. Just like Microsoft, Apple
and millions of other software vendors out there, Nuance only want the
original person who paid for the product to benefit from it.

Being frank, so do I, If I buy something and spend my hard earned cash on
it, I do not want someone else to benefit from that and get the same for
less. Rules and regulations and licenses are in place to protect everyone,
not just the licensee etc.

Nuance lose out for every phone that gets sold with Talks on.
Apparently we must remove the license and software so the buyer must
purchase a new license. Through this method Nuance will gain a extra
£100 for each new Talks user and not to mention the possible income
gained from further upgrades by the new user.

four kinds of freedom, for the users of the software:

   * The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).
   * The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your

   * The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor

   * The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements
