Paste in AutoCAD as an image entity (use /Edit/Paste Special) Accept all defaults for scale, rotation, etc. Type SCALE (or use a menu) Select the image entity Select a base point (anywhere in the image will do) Type R to use a reference length Click on two points that are a known distance apart. For example, if the scope's cursors are visible, click on two points along the appropriate axis. Let's say you wish to measure time in ns. Click on the two points. This will give AutoCAD their current distance. Let's say that's 0.237 Now enter the distance in your units (nanoseconds), let's say 200. AutoCAD will scale the image to put those two points exactly 200 units apart. Now you can use the DIST or any other dimensioning command to take your measurements. You can even trace over the waveform if you wish and turn it into a polyline that you could extract via AutoLISP or VB into a comma delimited file or even Excel. Other CAD systems might have similar capabilities. Give it a shot. =============================== Martin Euredjian eCinema Systems, Inc. voice: 661-305-9320 fax: 661-775-4876 martin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.ecinemasys.com =============================== ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu
