I would attribute any special qualities to the fact that you used a 4x5 camera more than anything The amount of information and character one of those negs have leaves any digital thing biting the dust --- On Thu, 8/27/09, Janet Cull <jcull@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Janet Cull <jcull@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [pure-silver] Re: what would you attribute the difference to? I used some Ilford glossy fiber (not much - maybe 3 of the prints), some Ilford rc (possibly), and a couple Kodak papers. I'm seldom using fiber because we are now on county water supply, and I'm trying to hold the water usage down. There are at least 35 prints made over the past 2 years. Some of the paper is pretty nice stuff that was given to me, most was bought from a photographer who is uses digital (some of his old papers were bad and mottled, some very good), and I bought the Ilford fiber and some rc. They papers I use are not extraordinary. I don't buy the most expensive papers. I'm always looking for a deal - especially in the past year.
