Shannon,
One approach is to standardize on one size filter, eg 82mm. Then use an 
adaptor ring for each different lens size. That way, one set of filters can 
be used for all lenses. In the case of my 300mm/f5.6 I had to mount the 
filter on the rear element. Highly recommend Heliopan or B&W.
