Thanks all for the opinions on TX TMY and HP5+. It really helped me direct my research and thinking, and shopping.

I'm going to go with Tri-X and D76 - new years resolution to stick with one film and one developer for a year.

Except for the Efke 100 and 25 6.5x9 sheets for my Rollei - although I could buy and cut up Tri-X 4x5 sheets.

This means I have about a dozen 135 and 120 rolls to work through between now and end of Dec. Lucky me.

With that set up, I think that I'd go with the TriX. I have not been all that happy with the TMY shoot over the years. With the drawing effects that you're after, I might even go with a Rodinal and TriX combination but D76
works OK too.

Hi Eric

Lately I've been thinking of photographs that read more like drawings.
In fact I'm coming to realize that maybe that's what I've been after
for some time.
I used to draw a lot, and I just don't have time anymore, and
photography is more fun (to be honest).
