Don't think theres a limitation on carrying more then 1 piece of armour. There 
is a limitation on using certain pieces concurrently but those are usually 
stated in the text passages where you acquire particular pieces. Keys, gems etc 
count as a special item each unless you are specifically told that they do not 
count toward the limit of 12. Conceivably, LW would be able to carry multiple 
keys and gems as well as wear multiple rings. I don't recall limits set on the 
numbers of those items.

You could, of course, set your own limits in the spirit of role-play but I 
don't recall any explicit notes in the books themselves on limits with regard 
to inventory makeup in backpack or special items.
