I very much doubt you will ever find that out. Imagine if you would, trying to
discover the number of gay computer programmers or black or even female
computer programmers. For very good reasons there is nothing compelling anyone
to qualify that sort of information.

I am a licensed Physiotherapist. Apart from my date of birth and my credentials
and of course my registration fee and continuing competency assessment I am
nothing more than a name and registration number. I don't think I even have to
specify my gender but I don't remember that for sure.

There is no registration for programmers regardless of their competency, age,
gender or other characteristics, blind, deaf, height or weight and if it ever
was required there would be such a hell of a noise made and not so much by the
blind unless it applied to them alone. Rightly so too.

The down side of that for special populations and others of course is exactly
your dilemma. Sometimes, like now, it may also be to our disadvantage but
overall that anonymity probably serves us better.

Now I guess I have drifted well off topic so should probably delete rather than
send but ...
