You have to SET cleanup to work the way you want. it has options.. I think
most clean up programs are like that.. they don't know what you do and don't
want..YOU have to make the choice...

I downloaded CleanUp a few months ago after hearing about it on this list.
It certainly cleaned stuff up - and a lot of stuff that I wanted too (I did
an image of my OS before running it, so I was able to get things back) - I
believe the default settings are a bit too aggressive and wouldn't recommend
using it unless you can read through all the options and UNDERSTAND what
they all do.

Re. spyware/not spyware
I believe ad-aware and spybot both to be very good at not giving false
positives, and if they say it's spyware it's normally fine to remove it.
Also, both programs allow you to undo and place back the item removed in its
original location, hence the reason I recommend them both.

If I get a machine in infested with spyware badly, as you say yours is
Then what I have told you to do is exactly what I would do.
It might not fix all your problems but we will work on them afterwards, but
it should remove a lot of junk and get your computer booting up and running
a lot better in order to remove the stubborn ones and fix the remaining
problems

Do you have CleanUP??? I use at least twice a day..it gets rid of lots of
stuff including everything in Prefetch. Nother thing...I don't know what
those things are you posted but are you SURE they are spyware???some things
SAY things are and it's just their opinion.. We are being told so much stuff

is spyware because with all that is out there paranoia is
rampant..Everylittle thing we jump at. Maybe we don't NEED to...if you
haven't YET, try some homework on google. Research whatever is bothering
you. see what the story is.. ????

Please read the entire email for my problems! Also - please
don't tell me to get rid of internet explorer.
I am infected with spyware. I am getting non-stop internet
explorer pop ups.
I have scanned with norton online - panda online - microsoft
anti-spyware - adaware - I deleted a file in hijackThis -
Pest patrol - it used to be really good, but I think it is
corrupted. It didnt' find it, and it is supposed to.

microsoft finds it and deletes it and it is right back. I
don't have anything in add/remove and I don't have any extra
things appearing on the top of my internet explorer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Panda online finds some things -
 C:\DOCUME~1\CRIS\APPLIC~1\ARMYBU~\LOVESAVEPOKE.EXE
 and:
c:\docume~1\cris\locals~1\temp\zcdexpxp.exe
How do you clean from c:docume~  ?
and this one -
Adware:adware/coupons            Windows Registry
and - Adware:Adware/Lop       C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\plan find scr junk\Transbyte.exe
Adware:Adware/Lop    C:\Documents and
Settings\Cris\Application Data\army burn\Lovesavepoke.exe
I MANUALLY DELETED THE TWO UP ABOVE, AND THEY COME BACK.
Adware:Adware/Lop          C:\Documents and
Settings\Cris\Local Settings\Temp\zcdexpxp.exe
THIS ONE WON'T DELETE.
Adware:Adware/MediaTickets    C:\Documents and
Settings\Cris\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\2M6SFGSI\symantec[1].css
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've run cleanUP! also - and manually tried to delete a file
from my regular temp folder - and it won't delete.
Can I get to that one in safe mode?
I haven't been so frustrated in ages!!!

Cris
