if you lay it on the side like a suitcase, are there two buttons..one on 
either side you can press in and open?

Thanks Gman,

I saw something that looked like it might be a latch but did not work for
me.  I have carpet.  Can I just place the washcloth on top of the carpeted
floor and then place the old drive on that?
