I was raised on a ranch the California Desert (near Acton, CA). I went from there into a 110 - 130 fire room (AKA a boiler room) aboard a Naval destroyer where I basically lived for another 17 years then on to the Pacific NW where I froze solid when the mercury dipped below 80 F. Now I am use to the PAC-NW's 65 degrees (+ or - 20 in normal years) and I'll be danged if I?ll go boil my brains again in the desert. I learned one thing while living in both extremes - it is easier to get warmer than it is to get cooler. milady <kg6ocz@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:giggle...OBviously someone doesn't know desert summers?..warm balmy nights??? Summer...hot days........warm calm balmy nights, twinkling stars, the ice tinkling in a frosty glass, walks along the beach, big fat full moons......... no thick undies, 4 pairs of socks or big big coats. It is going to be hard but some of us will manage to cope with all these things!
